The role of a group leader |

The group leader is automatically the person who sets up the group profile. This role involves; accepting or declining group members, keeping the group profile up to date including the uploading of pictures and hosting the group's discussions. Remember the groups are closed and therefore private however, discussion topics will still be viewed and moderated by the site moderator; although the moderator will play no active role in the group. |

This is a Tree Preservation Order (TPO). They are made by local planning authorities (LPAs) to protect trees for amenity, public enjoyment and their environmental benefit. They can apply to individual trees, groups or areas of trees, or whole woods. A TPO prohibits the cutting down, topping, lopping, uprooting, wilful damage or destruction of trees without first obtaining permission from the LPA, unless the tree is dead, dying or dangerous, or in the way of development which has planning permission. Breach of a TPO is an offence carrying a fine of up to £20,000, or an unlimited fine in very serious cases that are committed to the Crown Court. |

Why are all the groups closed? |
Top |
The groups are closed membership groups so that the members can discuss possibly private or wood specific topics ie. recent vandalism, open days, work part date etc. These subjects only being of interest to the direct members of the group and not to the global audiance. This part of the site was designed and built at the request of the forum trial participants. These group profiles are controlled by the group leader ie. the person who set up the group and not by the site host. Tthe group leaders are also responsible for the membership of the group and the topics discussed. |
